The Chronicles of Motherhood (part 2).
These pics were take a few days apart. On the left, I had time that day to do my hair and make up (and also had good lighting) but something felt off about posting this photo. It felt deceiving. It felt inauthentic.
Sure, sometimes I do have time to get dolled up but the reality of motherhood looks a lot different.
I took the pic of the right on the most challenging day Nevvy & I ever had. She had been crying from morning to night. The night prior, I was up with her every 2 hrs and slept about 2 hrs in total. To say I was exhausted, is an understatement.
I wasn’t upset at her. I am so in love with her. It is just I felt so bad for her and wanted to make her discomfort stop but nothing worked & I tried EVERYTHING (suggestions not needed). I even went for a drive (which normally works).
I took the pic on the right to intentionally capture what a day in the life of a new mama can look and feel like. Not all days are like this but some are. I feel a responsibility to share all facets of this beautiful (and messy at times) ride called motherhood.
Social media can be deceiving. If you are a new mama and have had days like this, you are not alone. In fact, you are 100% normal and you are doing an incredible job.
