When shit hits the fan (Chronicles of Motherhood)

The Chronicles of Motherhood (part 2).

These pics were take a few days apart. On the left, I had time that day to do my hair and make up (and also had good lighting) but something felt off about posting this photo. It felt deceiving. It felt inauthentic. ⁣

Sure, sometimes I do have time to get dolled up but the reality of motherhood looks a lot different.

I took the pic of the right on the most challenging day Nevvy & I ever had. She had been crying from morning to night. The night prior, I was up with her every 2 hrs and slept about 2 hrs in total. To say I was exhausted, is an understatement. ⁣

I wasn’t upset at her. I am so in love with her. It is just I felt so bad for her and wanted to make her discomfort stop but nothing worked & I tried EVERYTHING (suggestions not needed). I even went for a drive (which normally works).⁣

I took the pic on the right to intentionally capture what a day in the life of a new mama can look and feel like. Not all days are like this but some are. I feel a responsibility to share all facets of this beautiful (and messy at times) ride called motherhood.⁣

Social media can be deceiving. If you are a new mama and have had days like this, you are not alone. In fact, you are 100% normal and you are doing an incredible job.

ps. I am thinking of creating a new community for entrepreneurial minded mamas... aka Visionary Boss Mamas
